You hold yourself back from sharing your ideas for fear of making a mistake. The thought of what others might think of you stops you from being yourself. You have a harsh inner critic, impostor, or perfectionist syndrome.
Can you relate to any of these feelings or experiences? I did!
It wasn´t always like that. Growing up I was outgoing and very sociable. Presenting in class or work was not a problem for the most part.
But one day, in my twenties, heartbroken, and feeling like a failure for not advancing my career I had a bad breakdown and I lost all my sense of self-worth and self-confidence. I lost my voice. I didn´t feel like speaking up anymore. I felt like nobody would care about my stories or anything I had to say anymore. Have you ever felt that way?
Imagine speaking and sharing exactly what you truly feel and think without filtering yourself. I wanted to be able to do that. To not worry about what others thought of me, and to trust that my story, knowledge, and experiences had value. That through my journey and lessons learned I could make an impact in the lives of others. I wanted to be able to speak up and feel comfortable being myself in any speaking situation.
So what’s the solution to this gnawing angst?
In this blog post, I want to share some of my most profound findings discovered from diligent research, training, and experimentation with myself in this 10-year quest, now as a professional speaker, public speaking coach, and holistic therapist.

What is The Throat Chakra? - Authenticity and Voice
Delve into the symbolism and origin of the throat chakra
The throat chakra, also known as Vishuddha in Sanskrit, holds significant symbolism and offers profound insights for leaders seeking to enhance their communication skills and leadership presence.
Represented by vibrant blue color, this energy center is located in the throat region, resonating with the power of self-expression and authentic communication.
Originating from ancient Eastern traditions, the concept of chakras signifies the vital energy centers within our bodies.
The throat chakra specifically embodies the principles of authenticity, voice, and clarity, playing a crucial role in effective communication.

Identifying a Blocked Throat Chakra and Overcoming Blockers:
In the realm of effective communication, the throat chakra plays a crucial role. However, anxiety and stress can often block this energy center, impeding our ability to communicate with confidence and clarity.
Let's explore how to identify and overcome blockers that hinder effective communication:
The Impact of Anxiety and Stress:
Anxiety and stress can manifest as physical tension, mental blocks, and self-doubt, all of which directly affect our throat chakra.
These negative emotions create a barrier that inhibits the free flow of communication, leading to hesitation, stammering, or a lack of self-assurance.
Nobody is immune to these challenges, but with awareness and the right tools, we can effectively address and overcome them.
Common Blockers and Their Impact:
Several common blockers can obstruct the throat chakra, including fear of judgment, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and a lack of self-confidence.
These blockers can limit our ability to express ourselves authentically, engage with others, and effectively convey our ideas.
Recognizing these blockers is the first step toward overcoming them and cultivating a more confident and persuasive communication style.
The Role of Public Speaking Training:
Public speaking training plays a vital role in addressing and overcoming blockers associated with the throat chakra.
By employing a comprehensive approach that integrates the principles of impromptu speaking, coaching techniques, and holistic therapies, individuals can develop the necessary skills to navigate and transcend these challenges.
